Golf carts, or Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs), are a fun and convenient way to get around 30A. Many of our homes at Stay on 30A include a golf cart rental for guest use! However, before you head out, it’s important to understand Walton County golf cart and LSV rules.

✅ Who Can Drive Walton County Golf Carts (LSV’s)?

  • Drivers must hold a valid driver’s license and insurance card.

  • No one under 25 is permitted to drive.

  • Only guests who have signed the release form may operate the vehicle.


✅ Walton County Golf Cart Rules: Road Use & Speed Limits

  • All normal traffic laws apply. Obey stop signs, signals, and posted rules.

  • Seatbelts are required for all passengers.

  • Use turn signals when changing direction.

  • LSVs are permitted only on county roads with a maximum speed limit of 35 mph.

  • If a car is behind you, please pull over to allow them to pass.

  • Carts are not allowed on sidewalks, nature trails, or grassy areas.

  • 🚫 Absolutely no LSVs on Highway 98. It’s dangerous and strictly prohibited.

  • For Walton County golf carts- stay on roads posted 35 mph or below and never enter Highway 98.

✅ Safety Rules for Passengers

  • Everyone must be properly seated and restrained.

  • Children under 4 must be in a car seat.

  • No children may sit in the driver’s lap.


🚫 Where Golf Carts Are Not Allowed

Certain 30A communities prohibit golf carts. While carts may pass through these areas on Highway 30A, they cannot enter or park inside:

  • Rosemary Beach

  • Alys Beach

  • Seacrest Beach

  • Seaside Neighborhood Streets
